The  Johnson & Johnson Pediatric Institute founded in 1998, is an organization whose mission is to improve the lives of children and their families.

By working in partnership with health care professionals and international organizations, the Johnson & Johnson Pediatric Institute develops educational initiatives to care for mothers and newborns through pregnancy and the first three months of life; to optimize child health and development of children from birth to 5 years of age; and to protect and safeguard children who have been affected by disasters and violence.

The Institute's work with the National Scientific Council on the Developing Child focuses on providing pediatric healthcare professionals worldwide (including the United States and Asia) with the most up-to-date scientific information on issues pertaining to the health and well-being of young children.
